With a lot of the hottest rappers out right now hailing from the West Coast, Dom does not disappoint. I will admit I myself have slept on Dom, first hearing his stuff last year. But with his laid-back flow and smooth beats, this was the perfect mixtape to ride to this past summer. The Cali native also has a nice lineup of features on the tape, including K.Dot, Freddie Gibbs, Too $hort and Mr. Rozay. Combine his use of samples from Biggie (one of his biggest influences), Aaliyah and Musiq Soulchild, and the crazy production from THC and others, The Yellow Album has the perfect sound to be played all year long.
